The MRT series – Simei (EW3)

According to our national library board, this town is named after the four beauties (四美) of ancient China. It was said that there were four streets here named after each of the women, but locals found it hard to pronounce the mandarin names of these ladies… heheh.

Guess what? The good ole government renamed the streets Simei street 1-4… so much for trying to bring culture and history to one’s doorstep huh?

Unfortunately Mel did not find the beauties walking around but he did find one cat who was busy looking for herbs… so he thought. Did not see the wall murals of the beauties though (said to be on the walls of apartment void decks). Perhaps Mel has to return to check up on them again!
