Don’t you love aircraft windows?

We all probably know about the dreaded middle seat and we wrote about seats being misaligned to the window (read here). Or the ones where one need the good graces of the other party sitting next to you to give way. So’d you can get out of your cramped seat for a stretch, or join the queue for the water closet (yeah we’d say toilet, but today we speak Queen’s English ok?). Heheh.

Today we are not talking about that.

Rather, the focus is on the views from the window seat. Assuming it is aligned to the window that is. We’ve said countless times how we enjoy the views from the window. Literally staring out for long periods of time until we realize it does hurt the eyes… The Daily Mail actually had pilots share photo images taken from the cockpit some months back. Made for excellent instagram posts… deraming about someday, beyond the sea air…

Obviously they have wider windows. Unfortunately we don’t, but here is a little slide show with some of the views we captured. Did you spot the one that does not seem right? Which one was it?

Does this convince you to jostle for the window seat each time you get on a flight?

    1. Oh no! Yeah, health is what matters first. The window shots are a vanity. And in any case, if you ask nicely, as some folks have of us, you can have someone take a photo out of the window too. Just pass your phone or camera to the person who sits next to the window!

  1. Nice to stumble upon your blog…
I will always select the aisle seat if I have a choice. I like the flexibility of going in and out without disturbing anyone, and as well, it gives a bit more a feeling of space, having air on one side. Love the photos you took from your window seat, especially the bright blue seas and the magic carpet.

    1. Heheh… many thanks! Nowadays the planes are of the 3-4-3 configuration making it hard even for couples to have aisle/window for their own… If only carpets can fly, we’ll take them over planes! lol

  2. I always like to sit on the aisle seat when I was traveling alone, because of the water closet reason!! But couldn’t agree more about that fascinated views so since I’ve been traveling with my husband, window seat have always been mine 😀 😀

  3. As someone who can manage to sit in their seat for extended time periods I always go for a window seat and rarely have to disturb others (apart from inter-Continental flights where even I must use the water closest as you call it lol) to get in and out and others can’t disturb me. Of course, I enjoy the views and ensure I select a seat per-travel having referred to seat guru for alignment issues, where I can.

    1. Heheh… we actually go as far as to try to understand in which direction the plane will approach and land at an airport… because you can get “better” views. For example, we positioned ourselves on the right side of the seaplane when we flew from Male to our resort in the morning. We were flying south, so did not want to sit on the side with the rising sun!
