Most Romantic city in the world?

Heheh, this tagline has been used on this city so many times that it should simply click in your head when you read it. Yes, yes we are talking about Paris. The capital of the most visited country in the world. And the country which we (Mel & Suan) happily present – as being probably the most visited for us too, except Japan (which is catching up rapidly).

There are soooo many posts and essays out in the big wide web about this city.

No point for us to say too much, given this is a reminiscing about our journeys past anyway. So much more exciting things have developed all this time in the city. So what’s our story about?

It is about how, despite having visited the city many times over a span of three years, we still have not seen most of the city! So let us ponder for a moment. It seems superficial to say that we have experience the Parisian life with short jaunts of a few days or a week in the city, even if it was several times. Because we know that deep down there are so many faucets of life that we’ll never be privy to. Just like visitors coming to our own home city.

Is there a ring of truth in how some folk seem to say that they do not want to be just casual tourists and vacationers, but true ‘travelers’? We’ve satires about this in various posts (here and here) past.

What do you think?

Author: Mel & Suan

Mel works his day job for a living, but lives for antiquities, history and geography at all other times. He enjoys writing and thought sharing and obviously traveling. Suan is a homey person, who like girlie stuff such as cross stitching etc. Enjoys shopping & modeling for Mel. What a match!

  1. Paris is so big and has so many interesting places to see. I visited for the first time when I was 18. I went back at 32 and finally I was able to bring my husband in 2015. Paris is so interesting and I would not mind to go back .. would you ?

  2. I will soon join my husband in France and will definitely pop over Paris for a couple of days. I will probably only cover the main sights tho since it is my first time but I will surely come back to explore some other parts of this city. But then, France is not only Paris so I will also visit other interesting cities such as Bordeaux, Nice and Marseille.

    1. Oh yes and if you have the opportunity, pick up a car and drive around. You will see so much more than just the cities. The cities are fine, but many of France’s treasures are in the small towns outside the cities!

  3. I have not been there yet, but I’d love to visit someday. I’d probably be interested in seeing the villages and the ordinary life away from the city. I like to observe culture a bit, and I’m sure Paris has its own distinct culture too ☺

    1. Well if you are in Paris for the first time, then spend at least 3-4 days capturing in the main sights. While France is compact it is not small and though there are TGV bullet trains, they do not reach many of the places we are on course to share in the coming weeks. So, its still best to do road trips just like in the US. We’ve read a lot of posts on Paris and we are sure you can easily find them for research material.

  4. I totally agree….Paris has a different Vibe and energy. I have visited this beautiful city only once. But I am sure, I am gonna visit Paris again and again…for this historic beauty, archaic street lamps, delicious desserts, Disney land, Eiffel Tower and SHOPPING 🙂
