All hail the Rooster!

Oh swell!

Finally we get to ship the mischievous year of the monkey off. This has been a year of tumult with the naughty monkey making so much trouble around the world and at home…so much that we don’t miss this bugger!

All hail the Fire Rooster!

lunar-new-year-2017So what do we think the new lunar year will bring?

Our zodiac sign (we both born the same year) suggests that quite some business travel opportunities will come along. Finance luck is good, though we need to be careful or else may run into some losses…Romance is good…heheh. Generally health is ok – this one’s the most important to us really. Otherwise even with wealth, it will be lost with ill health – paying the healthcare system…

Yes we also hear you ask – what is this 4715 beneath the little cute rooster? Well, that’s because the Chinese believe that the Yellow King ascended the throne in the spring of 2698BC or there abouts…and you see he is regarded as the founder of the Chinese nation.

As we herald into yet another lunar zodiac year, we wish you good health and success in all your endeavours. We certainly wish for you to be able to achieve your resolutions!

Do you have lunar new year celebrations where you live? And if so will you share?

  1. Happy New Year! Yeah interestingly different regions of India have a similarly timed harvest / Lunar new year! It’s amazing ! Not just because we get additional holidays but because of how there is so much diversity & similarity in such a small place. It usually falls around mid April and it’s a lovely quaint celebration : )

P.S. I will look up what this Chinese year prediction is there for me! Wishing you good luck, health and lots of travel 🙂

  2. Interesting! I actually never knew my zodiac sign but I just looked it up and I´m the year of the tiger (aggressive… arrogant… haha). I´ve never experienced Chinese New Year in the UK but apparently there are parades in the various China towns. Must check it out one day!

  3. Unfortunately, Lunar New Year is not a festival here in Hamburg :(. Asian communities might organize their own celebrations. But that was it. Nothing special. However, in my home country Vietnam, Lunar New Year is the most important festival in the year. You can check my post if you have interest. Happy New Year to you two. I wish you lots of health, luck and success in the upcoming year! 🙂
