Durian feasts

For those who live in Southeast Asia, the King of fruits is clear. It’s the Durian! Pungent to some yet sweet smelling to others, this fruit is indeed the epitome of being one man’s meat as oppose to it being another’s poison. Actually, the fruit is not allowed to be carried on the subway here…

It is the dryer times here in Singapore and the fruit is in season. Which means a lot of messy eating this sweet yet “pungent” King fruit. In fussy Singapore, you don’t just feast on this fruit anywhere. You journey to highly rated and ‘branded retailers’.

Sure you can buy the fruit all year round these days, but tradition must be held and the feasting in a large team to be conducted. And so the peak season for harvest has come to an end and prices are going back up. We’ll be ready for the next annual event!

Those who have not tried it and think it pungent, hold your breadth and try it first with an open mind. You might change your opinion!
