An archipelago of more than 500 islands set in the western part of the pacific near the Philippines, Palau is one of the dream destinations that seems so near yet so far. You will be greeted on many web pages with images such as the following. Definitely a must consider for a helicopter trip for the bird’s eye view.

However, getting to Palau can be tricky. There are no direct flights from Singapore to this island archipelago and at best we can only transit via Manila or Taipei. We have also read from other blogs that it is far more costly to try free-and-easy as most operators tend to work with groups already and walk-ins may find themselves delayed at the expense of these groups.
So far, the research has landed us to consider booking via Taiwan travel agents as it appears that there are regular group tours departing. Well, who knows? There is now direct flights from Singapore to Fiji where there was never before and perhaps we will get one in the near future?
