Trends 2016 in travel

This week I chanced recently upon a Yahoo! piece on what to expect in terms of trends for 2016 in the world of traveling. While I am not sure about interacting less with people and more with machines, or that I even want to according to the article, the one thing that struck me was the new term “bleisure” that was coined. See here for full article

This term refers to the combining of a business trip with private time – either before or after the actual business activity (well who knows it can be mixed in between too!).

Resonates with me well.

This year’s where the intent is for Suan to tag along as much as the air miles can be stretched. Hopefully that will be a trip to Europe and another to Australia. Perhaps another would be possible by stretching the dollars!

I have observed this to be a trend where I work as well, since most of my colleagues are professions serving regional roles. Take the next week for example. Many of us are in Hanoi for 3 days for a business meeting. Quite some decided to extend the weekend to explore Halong bay.

Quite spot on this one for Yahoo! Can’t say much about other things for them.

Author: Mel & Suan

Mel works his day job for a living, but lives for antiquities, history and geography at all other times. He enjoys writing and thought sharing and obviously traveling. Suan is a homey person, who like girlie stuff such as cross stitching etc. Enjoys shopping & modeling for Mel. What a match!
